First graders have spent time researching their favorite rain forest animal. This week we were able to share and present to other classes at North Ward. First graders have learned we can read nonfiction books to learn. They are so excited to share their learning with the rest of the class.
100 day was complete with dressing up like we were 100, stacking 100 cups, making fruit loop necklaces with 100 fruit loop, and writing our numbers to 120. We are celebrating being 100 days smarter! Ae bit thank you to Tuscola's own Peyton Shelmadine and her friend Stephanie Woolsey for coming to North Ward this morning and teaching our first grade class about dental hygine. The student were captivated by their games and learned so much from their presentation. Both Ms. Shelmadine and Ms. Woosley are nearing the end of the Dental Hygine department at Parkland.
Huge thank you to our creative helpers during our Halloween celebration. The kids enjoyed our afternoon working together to make each other into mummies. The kids enjoyed cupcakes and a whole lot of treats! It was a fun afternoon! Our class is participating in a Global Read Aloud. After reading the book "Whoever You Are" by Mem Fox we had a video chad with a 1st grade class in San Antonio. We discussed the theme of silialarities from the book and then shared places they loved in our towns. We had to similarities of partks and their school also got to see some differences in local attractions. One child shared The Alamo as one of their favorite places. We love to celebrate the special people in our lives. Grandparents are the BEST! Grandparents thank you for supporting our school district! We love you more than... First Annual Tiger Trot is a sucess! The kids enjoyed themselves. Thank you PTO for organizing this event. 100% of the money raised goes back into our classrooms! |
